Remediation 1 (R1): Every package remaining in the packaging queues will get a maximum of 2 hours effort. At the end of that time, if it has not yet been remediated then the package is moved to Remediation 2 and the packager will check out another application to begin it’s remediation.

Only once all applications have been allocated an 2 hours will the packaging team start to investigate the packages in Remediation 2 (R2). This process results in blocks of packages being released to Acceptance testing based on the effort required. It will also make visible any bottlenecks in the Discovery / Analysis / Remediation phases which can be addressed quickly by temporarily reallocating resources.
